Welcome to my blog: Life in Our Backyard!

Hi! I go by “X-Evolutionist” on the internet, but please call me “X” for short. I am a Christian married lady who has lived over 50 interesting years. Thank you for visiting my new blog!

On of my favorite movies of all time is "The Wizard of Oz". In the movie, our heroine, Dorothy dreams of a place “Over the Rainbow” where everything is perfect. She travels to all sorts of wonderful and magical places. But, during her entire adventure, she is trying to find her way back home.

At the end of the movie, when she finally finds her way home, the Tin Woodsman asks her a question:

“What have you learned, Dorothy?” and Dorothy replies:

“Well, I – I think that it – it wasn’t enough to just want to see Uncle Henry and Auntie Em – and it’s that – if I ever go looking for my heart’s desire again, I won’t look any further than my own backyard. Because if it isn’t there, I never really lost it to begin with! Is that right?

For me, it has a more literal, as well as figurative, meaning: My hubby maintains a wonderful and beautiful backyard for me. He has built me a goldfish pond and he is currently planting a vegetable garden for me.

My hubby has made, and continues to make, my backyard into my own personal Garden of Eden. I love to watch God’s Creation at work in my own backyard rather than travel to strange and mysterious places.

In this new blog, I’m going to keep track of what I see in my backyard. In addition, I’m going to post about my entire life in general. For instance, I have animals and I have pets dogs and bunnies, plus an African Grey Parrot, a lovebird, two cockatiels, and seven parakeets.

In addition to the things I write about in this blog, I have a particular passion. I love to tell people why I believe in God. In you are interested, please also see my other blog: Reasons Why I Believe in God.
